Jessica The Dog Walker

Jessica Martinez Maxey

My name is Jessica. I was born and raised in NYC. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University.

Along with writing songs for Native wind instruments and guitar, I dedicate my time to walking dogs. I am a full time dog walker and keep a full walking schedule Monday through Friday. I have experience with both large and small dogs and also with basic puppy training and care giving (food, water, meds).

I specialize in one on one walks, no pack walking, as this allows ample attentive time for your furry friends.

Walking services include areas in Park Slope, South Park Slope and Bay Ridge.

Jessica walked my two wire-haired daschunds, Gilligan and Ginger, for six months before I moved back up to Boston.  Gilligan and Ginger (especially Gilligan) don't warm up to everyone, but they really loved Jessica.
Jessica was extremely responsible, had the keys to my house and did a great job.  I wish she were here in Boston! -Wells B.

Jessica has been walking my 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd, Gretchen, since she was 8 weeks old.  Gretchen LOVES her!  It's amazing how much my dog gets excited when Jessica comes over.  Jessica gives Gretchen lots of massage pets and great long walks daily.  Jessica is also very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond when it comes to caring for dogs.  When my dog was sick, Jessica taught me about pumpkin filling.  She bought a can of it and gave it to Gretchen and she was better when I came back from work.  Now I always keep a can of pumpkin filling in my pantry.  Thanks for that Jessica.  In addition to being an amazing dog walker, Jessica is very trust worthy, responsible and understands how to handle all types of dogs.  My neighbor has Jessica come to walk her dog too.  If you are looking for a dog walker, Jessica is the best!!  Your dog will love her too. -Jennifer W.

As a single doggie mama, it has been such a relief having Jessica help me out with Spike. She's great with him and responds quickly to my crazed texts "can you come tomorrow" or "can you go by tonight". She does her best to accommodate me and I think it's because she loves my dog. How many dog walkers can you really say that about? -Lori H.

"Jessica has saved me from a couple of tight spots.  Going out of town on a Holiday, and the normal dog sitter canceled at the last minute.  Jess Max to the rescue!  Dog walkers have to be extremely trustworthy, not just because they are taking the lives of your precious pooches in their hands, but because they literally have the keys to your apartment.  Jessica has proven that trust from me". -Karl H.

We have two dogs: one feisty mutt, Pip, and one very old (17!) terrier mix (Nora).  We live in a third floor walk-up and Nora can't take the stairs and she can't really be walked at the same pace as peppy Pip.  Jessica takes them separately - first taking Pip for a nice long walk to expend some of that energy and then coming back and CARRYING Nora down (and later back up) the stairs for her slower-paced jaunt.  Pip and Nora both love her and it's nice to know that they are in good hands when we're off at work.  More than that, Jessica is reliable - not missing a single day in the 1.5 years we've used her as a walker.  We've lived in NYC for a long time, and let me tell you - there are some really bad dog walkers out there.  Meeting someone as kind and professional as Jessica was a godsend.  If you have a dog who is truly "part of the family" then you need a Jessica in your life. -Dave R.

Jessica is a great dog walker.  We got our rescue mutt on the fly and were in a jam to find a good dogwalker in short notice.  I found her ad posted on Craigslist and am so glad I did!  She has this calm, kind energy about her.  One time I happened to be home when she was walking my dog and as soon as she came in, he literally rolled over on his back to get a belly rub.  I've even had people from my apt building ask to use Jessica because they see how good she is with my dog.  She's a nice person and trustworthy too! -K.G.

Jessica is a trustworthy, sweet and responsible dog walker.  She has been walking my dog for over a year and he loves her.  Every time I say her name he wags his tail and really looks forward to seeing her.   She is very kind and loving with my doggie nelson, and I can tell she really cares about him.  Jessica has also helped me out in a pinch, she walked my dog on Thanksgiving and again this year right around the holidays!  She even walks my dog on the weekends!  My neighbors often stop me on the street and tell me how amazing my dog is when he walks with her.  I am so thankful Jessica walks my dog, she is amazing and I wholeheartedly recommend her. -Sara B.
