Jessica Martinez Maxey - All My Blessings

"A flutist and actress out of New York.  She has a very unique style of Native American flute playing which sounds like it was influenced by the pan flute, which she also plays."- Tillicum Wawa, KBOO Community FM Radio

"...recording artist, mistress of the native American flute with influence from the South American Andes and Native American Indians, graced Festival for Change with the incredible sounds of her hand crafted flutes, and husbands' guitar."- Carson Tang, President/CEO, Carson Worldwide

"You are incredibly talented. Thank you so much for this wonderful traditional music and your generosity in sharing it. Blessings on you. " -A note from a listener

About me:
Born and raised in NYC, I am of Afro-Cuban, Spanish and Chachi-Cayapa Ecuadorian descent.  My love for the flute coincided with the discovery of poetry writing as a child.  After a long music absence, I rediscovered my love for Native wind instruments and immediately starting working on original pieces.  My music reflects my pride in both my Amerindian and Yoruba heritage, and my connection with indigenous cultures.  Playing music is like reciting poetry, made from my heart.

The music is heavily influenced by the melodious sounds of the South American Andes and the Native American flute song forms.

All My Blessings, was released in June 2012.   It includes the Native American flute, the South American Andean/Inca panflute, acoustic guitar and conga.  It has received airplay on RAWA Radio as well as been approved for play on PowWows Radio and Got Radio.  The album is available for purchase at gift shops in Cherokee, NC and Alter-Native in Palisades Mall, NY.

I have been interviewed and my music has been featured on the Tillicum Wawa show on KBOO Community FM Radio.
